Writing is one of those things that even though it's pretty solitary, most of the writers I know don't totally, go it alone---including me. There is always someone along the way who makes a difference in our life that directly reflects our writing career in one form or another. Whether it's a simple piece of advice, a critique of a manuscript, a catch of a misplaced coma, a shoulder to cry on after yet, another rejection, or a pal(s) to celebrate a sale with, having that support along the way is invaluable. And at times, career saving.

I've been working at this crazy, fickle business for a long, long time and so I've had the privilege to be touched by many people along the rocky road to publication. In case you missed it, I'm a huge Dierks Bentley fan! My hubby and I also attended Dierks' Live & Loud at the Fillmore in Denver June 2006 for the filming of a special DVD. Bummer I don't have a picture from that concert, but that's another story. Anyway, the concert made its debut on CMT this past spring. I can honestly say I've been on national television, you just can't see me! Dierks also used that event in his Every Mile a Memory video and when we go frame by frame, we can spot my hubby! Darn, guess I was surrounded by super tall people! And guess what, I got to not only see Dierks this past July, but I got to meet him again! He's truly a nice guy and so appreciative of his fans. I even got brave and gave Dierks an autographed copy of Studs for Hire: Woman on Top. He said he'd take it on the bus and give it a read. Hmm. Wonder if he'll send me any fan mail?! ;-)
